Moore's next film to make 'Columbine' look like 'Forrest Gump'

I'm posting most of this Variety story because you need a subscription to read it. Here's a link, if you're a subscriber.
I'm most intrigued that Mel Gibson's production company is backing this, given Mel's well-established rep as one of Hollywood's quiet but staunch conservatives. Then again, Gibson also loves a good Conspiracy Theory.

Mel's father has said that the 9/11 planes were flown by remote control, and argued that 9/11 was part of a conspiracy. Mel is harder to read, but one wonders.

maybe mel just likes $$$. i work for the company that published ann coulter's "slander" and i'm guessing that no one here really likes that book (shoddy as it is...). but everybody like the profits...

Regarding "questioning your government"... It seems Moore isn't reading public opinion pools. And, hey, just what kinds of "answers" do you think he'll find to the questions he says he doesn't yet know the answer to? Do you think that maybe they'll be bad for Bush?

Moore's films are entertaining and raise interesting questions, but pure crap lurks at their core. His interesting and watchable "The Big One" holds up only if one chooses to not believe that US labor markets do not have to compete against global labor markets. He asks Nike's Phil Knight why he doesn't manufacture shoes in Flint instead of China. Does Moore really think $250 cross-trainers will turn a profit?

And the gun-purchasing scene in "Columbine" is entirely fictitious. His production company called ahead and ordered the gun, which he would never have been able to buy - as he did in the film -without a 10-14 day waiting period.
